Intermodal transportation is a transportation operation using at least two different modes of transportation without changing the means of transport. During intermodal transportation, the transportation vehicles or container types in which the loads are placed do not change. The loads remain in the same transportation vehicle in which they were placed at the beginning of the shipment until the end of the shipment.
